Dejan Rafajlovic was born and raised in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He first picked up guitar at the age of 12, but a few years after, due to the escalating war, his whole family relocated to Canada. Here he continued pursuing music and has since obtained a degree in Jazz performance from the University of Manitoba. His stint with Montreal based band Les Gitans de Sarajevo resulted in a JUNO nomination for their album 'En Voyage'. Dejan is fluent in a variety of styles and genres, particularly Jazz, Latin and traditional Balkan music.
